Turn your PC/laptop into WiFi Hotspot without using any softwares
All laptops comes up with attached WiFi hardware built into them for connecting to WiFi networks. As for PC's, separate WiFi dongles or devices are connected via USB to connect to WiFi networks. These are to connect WiFi networks and browse the internet. But, what if you want your laptop/PC to create your own WiFi network? Well, it is also possible by aid of some simple commands in command prompt or there are tons of third-party apps to do this work for you.
For those, who want to create WiFi hotspot without using any third-party softwares, this article will guide you through the process.
STEP 1: Open the command prompt with administrative rights.
Simply do it by pressing Win + X, and then click on 'Command Prompt(admin)'.
STEP 2: Type in the following command.
'XplorTechs' refers to the wifi hotspot name and '12345678' is the key or password to connect to the network. You can change the name and key as per your choice, what you want it to be.
STEP 3: Now, after your hotspot is created, you need to start it. Do it by typing the command
You will get output something like this.
STEP 4: Click Win+R and then type ncpa.cpl and Enter.
When your network connections open. Right click on the main connected network, and then click on properties.
Switch to sharing tab, and allow other devices to use your machines network by selecting the first checkbox.
From the combo box now available, select the network connection that you have enabled. It mostly comes with name 'Local Area Connection' or you can find it at the network and sharing center. After selecting, click on OK and you're good to go.
Now you can search for the WiFi hotspot from any WiFi enabled device and connect to it.
